GS Innovation Training for Future: Power/Energy Business

In this project, Re:public planned and carried out a six-day open innovation programme for the Korean corporate group GS. 24 participants, predominantly leaders involved in energy-related businesses, visited Japan to research the future of energy businesses and infrastructure. The first half of the programme was based in RE:STORE in Satsuma-sendai City, from where we toured cutting-edge energy and infrastructure firms in Kagoshima Prefecture, and engaged in research and workshops. The second half of the programme unfolded in Tokyo, where we delved into domestic and global energy trends an visited innovative startups and companies in the field.

The project was designed to explore a sustainable and desirable future for citizens with GS, a heavy industry in Korea, to meet the global call for sustainability and carbon neutrality. Furthermore, we collaborated with the 52g team and GS’s internal innovation lab to develop methodologies tailored to the field and investigate ways to cultivate a culture and organisational structure that will foster new innovations.
